Hi Everyone,
It’s been a while since our last post, and we wanted to fill everyone in on what we’ve been up to! We were limited from practicing and playing during Fall 2020 and Winter 2021 by COVID guidelines at Northwestern but were able to get things going again during the Spring 2021 quarter. We met some of the class of 2024 rookies and held some weekly practices for everyone to start getting back into it, and left for the summer ready to improve and play some ultimate!
We started off Fall 2021 with a bang, seeing unprecedented numbers at our annual Wildcat Welcome pickup – everyone had a blast over the three days that we hosted! We then had a great Fall as we were allowed to return to semi-normal ultimate, traveling to ISU for the Stanley Cup Invite and participating in the Fall Series. We played some great competition at Sectionals in Rantoul and ended up taking the last bid to Regionals in a dramatic Sunday morning rain game. We then faced some even stronger competition at Regionals in Holland, MI, and had a great time staying at a team AirBnB instead of our usual stints in motels. After making roster decisions just before leaving for Winter Break, our program is excited to compete in the upcoming tournament season!
