Joe Harari #3

• Height: 6’2’’
• Weight: ~190 lbs
• Hometown: New York, NY
• Major: Mechanical Engineering
• Actual first name: Joseph
• Actual middle name: Joe
• Cheese name: Joe Havarti
• Favorite roommate: Robby Gray
• Most notable achievements: handblocking Beau Kittredge, biking from New York to Montreal, getting the frisbee house to play Stump.
• Least notable achievements: fewest nights on spring break spent inside the house, longest concussion.
• Most interesting story: One time Joe was backpacking through the woods of upstate New York when he somehow found himself on the edge of a cliff with no way down. He had to get air-lifted out by a helicopter.
• Least interesting story: One time Joe texted me a summary of a TED talk speculating about the origin of the letter x as an algebraic variable. The only conclusion he seemed sure of was that “it wasn’t pirates”.

Joe is basically NUT’s pet puppy. He is endlessly energetic, always positive, always ready for a new adventure, curious about everything, he brightens everyone’s day with his antics, and he possesses basic frisbee-related skills.

Joe came to us from Bronx Science high school in New York, where he captained the Lone Wolves ultimate team. This led us to believe that he was good. Unfortunately, he spent the majority of his freshman year dealing with a concussion, so his contributions came mostly from the sidelines. Over the summer, he worked hard to get himself back in shape, but inexplicably did all his throwing practice with aluminum pans and didn’t make much progress.

Joe left a void in all of our hearts when he went off to San Francisco this past winter to participate in a program that could only be called ‘engineering’ by a very generous interpretation of the term. He came back with some great stories and a bolstered sense of determination that helped him lead BOLT’s D-line to new heights.

In the coming years, keep an eye out for Joe as he continues making everyone’s lives a little brighter with his crazy stories, thought-provoking questions, and delicious cooking. He also might do some good things for our ultimate team.
