#99 Josh Venegas

Armed with his trademark awkward chuckle and affable “okay”, Josh Venegas is easily one of the most civil players on the NUT Roster. In my mind, he is the quintessential all-American college kid. Ten out of every ten mothers in America would swoon to have Josh Venegas as their child. Indeed, if you ever encounter this boy, you might even peg him as totally harmless.

But make no mistake – this man is no gentle giant. Josh Venegas, in truth, is an absolute beast on the field.

Squatting 300+ lbs like it’s nobody’s business, Josh is constantly surrounded by a thicc layer of muscle. Through hard work and dedication, he is by far one of the most fearsome players to ever join NUT. Whenever he stomps onto the field, you know this kid isn’t messing around. While making the team highlight reel, there was a moment when I realized that what I had was basically just seven minutes of my man Josh popping off. He’s literally that good.

Some people play good positioning and body people for the disc. Josh, instead, becomes an immovable object. Just try pushing him out of the way, I dare you. I’ve seen him completely dominate opponents three times his size, and leave them crying on the ground quaking in fear.

Physical recovery? 3 weeks. Mental recovery? An entire lifetime.

Yep. Josh is not someone you’d want to be with.

At the end of the day though, he’s one of the most down-to-earth and chill dudes you’d ever have the pleasure to meet. But, time and time again, when I play with Josh, I’m just thanking God that we’re on the same team.
