Matthew “Niemer” Niemer

Matt Niemer, known to a select few as the Red Panda, is in his 4th year with the NUT program for the 2017-2018 season. Matt is one of the three captains on this year’s iteration of NUT, but he’s really the only one who counts because he’s the only one on D line. He attributes his success in ultimate frisbee to his experience playing violin, saying “it really developed my dexterity, but even more so gave me the mental toughness I rely on in games”. Upon starting his Northwestern experience, he ditched the fiddle for a disc.
His contributions to the team include huge layout D’s, solid defensive handling, and most importantly his commitment to google forms. He can even produce fully automated forms for all of your throwing challenge needs! Don’t screw with his forms though, because he’s been known to bring down the hammer in the past if you do (@PPP). When he’s not on the field you can catch him in the sauna, in Iowa, or eating Mac and Cheese (exclusively outside of Iowa or the Sauna).
Matt has been a great player, captain, and friend to all his teammates as part of this program, and his impact on NUT will live on forever for at least a couple years.
