Gene Chen #71

Height: self-declared 5’9
Actual Height: solid 5’7
Weight: sensitive topic

Gene is the type of player that makes you just stop and think to yourself, “wow, is there any hope?” Gene spent his first season on Bolt as one of the top 20 cutters on the team. Unable to make decent cuts and break away from the defender on a consistent basis led many to believe that Gene would become a solid bench rider for the next few years. Determined to contribute more to the team besides his below average to average throws, he trained throughout the season, like a madman on a mission, trying to log the most minutes of throwing a frisbee for the Spring Throwing Challenge. Although he finished short, coming in at 4th place, he still finished with a whopping 41,710 minutes. One had to wonder, however, how the hell he still couldn’t throw a decent forehand flick. In this short year he has improved greatly from “horrible” to “God awful”. Members of Bolt and NUT, alike, are still waiting to witness Gene make the transition from the Sideline General to Handler Gene.

Gene looks to continue to improve his frisbee skills even more in the years to come, and in all honesty, is one of the hardest workers on the team. He is truly committed and passionate about the team, and looks forward to contributing to its success in the years to come.
