Fall Tournament Recap: Windy City Invite

For our second tournament of the fall, NUT again went split squad, taking two teams under the names of “Carl’s Llamas” and “Sheen’s Ultralords”. Fresh off another strong week of practice, NUT was primed for a good weekend in Rockford full of Jimmy Neutron jokes and eager rookies. With nothing but perfect weather, our rookies got their first taste of beautiful Rockford, Illinois, the Mercy Sportscore 2, and the famous Machine Shed bread rolls. Both teams impressed with gritty efforts throughout the weekend and standout performances from rookies and returners alike.

A big shout-out has to go to Great Lakes Ultimate Events (GLUE) for putting on an incredibly well-run tournament. With ample food and water provided, Sheen’s never-before-seen, highly collectable cast of Ultralords grinded out impressive victories against strong regional opponents while Carl’s fierce Llamas spat and kicked their way to a hard fought 6th place. The future looks bright as we look ahead, only time will tell what the combined forces of Sheen’s Ultralords and Carl’s Llamas can do as the year rolls on. Who knows, many Neutron himself will make an appearance! For now, all we can say is, “slap, slap, slap… clap, clap, clap”.

Stay tuned for Missouri Loves Company on November 5-6.
